It has been a challenge having Baha'i Holy Days during this period of physical distancing. We have an established culture of gathering and sharing food, love and laughter. We are currently in the biggest festival, Ridvan. These twelve days signify the onset of a new era, materially and spiritually. Yesterday, we found a way to bring fun, activity and engagement to our holy day in addition to the zoom gathering which included prayers, songs and smiles. A modified scavenger hunt was arranged. Families were able to drive their children to the designated homes to collect goody bags (respecting the physical distance) and had to assemble a quotation, a portion of which they collected at each home. Participants shared videos, photographs and reflections. This collective spirit of joy permeated the entire community as we all participated, whether our driveways were stops for families to collect their treasure from a distance or seeing the outpouring of joy come in via social media. It definitely has left us with a most memorable Festival of Ridvan that will be remembered for many years to come.
