Determination

I am steadfast.

My dear friend recently qualified as a medical doctor. At 47 years old many of her friends and family shared their strong apprehension about her mid-life career goals. She proceeded undeterred and had the courage to meet any oncoming obstacles. She personifies determination for me. She focused her energy on a purpose and persevered. She inspires me to follow my dreams, acknowledging that difficulties will come my way. Her experience enables me to see that without these challenges there would be no progress. I have the stimuli to grow stronger and develop the capacity to refine newly learned skills and awaken abilities. Today I will stand facing the wind in the knowledge that it aids my progress.
