I was initially puzzled by the appearance of accountability this morning but also curious as to where I needed these practices most. Usually after a virtues pick I set about writing this musing immediately, but today I needed space for contemplation and reflection. About an hour later it became apparent why this was a necessary virtue for me today. With out hesitation I reached out to friends, answering for my actions and being willing to stand in the responsibility for my choices by having a quick consultation with my husband suggesting changes to future plans. Writing this now, is giving me cause to marvel at how appropriate accountability is for me today, it directly relates to what I am experiencing. When I take the time to conscientiously translate the virtues practices into concrete actions in my own life, things proceed more easily. The day is young. There will be many more opportunities to navigate though and some will be challenging but I am assured that with accountability as the star today, I will be guided by my highest standards.
