I have been asked to tender a proposal and fee schedule for my virtues coaching to a company. I am learning about how to run a business and the learning curve is steep and uncomfortable to traverse. I want to avoid reading about the many ways to organise an availability schedule, set up software to receive payments and sorting out banking. It is exhausting and I have to push myself to do the research around these things. I am eternally grateful for the response to the services I offer but is there a way to do business that does not feel so onerous? I would like a simple approach, one which is transparent, equitable and ensures that my economic decisions cohere with spiritual ideals. This is not common practice in the business world and perhaps I will be met with scepticism and distrust. It may even put some people off from hiring me, but if it is that I seek to encourage people to become more in touch with their spiritual nature and harness the untapped potential that lies therein, then I may be empowered to proudly walk my talk. In the building of a new civilisation one that embeds spirituality into its institutions, economics too needs to be rebuilt to function in a manner that ensures the prosperity of all. One that ensures that the trace I leave in my wake is one of encouragement, does not seek to participate in the destruction of the old world but contributes to the building of a new world. In my reflection and prayer this morning, It became clear that I can bring more flow and ease to this process of business construction if I approach it with these principles - ironically a suggestion I had shared with a client recently!
